Train Simulator: SW1500 Switcher Loco Add-On Free Download [pack]

Updated: Mar 17, 2020

About This Content This DLC is only available to purchase in the USA.The SW1500 is a classic example of a US yard switcher, and the different colour schemes and variants included in this add-on make it ideal for all your switching operations in Train Simulator.Built by the General Motors Electromotive Division as a replacement of the SW1200, the SW1500 was intended for switching duties, but was capable of light short line work as a road switcher. It was a development of the SW1200 and previous SW-series switchers dating back many years earlier, and was fitted with a 1500 horsepower two-stroke V-12 diesel engine. A total of 808 examples were built from 1966 to 1974, serving industrial and railroad operators across the length and breadth of the United States, with approximately a quarter of the whole production initially purchased by the Southern Pacific Railroad. A huge number of SW1500s can still be found in use today, proving the durability and versatility of this old locomotive design. The SW1500 for Train Simulator includes different variants and liveries making it as versatile as the real thing.includes:SW1500 Switcher in the following liveries: Union Pacific, Southern Pacific, BNSF, Burlington Northern, Norfolk Southern ‘Lines’, Norfolk Southern ‘Horse’, Frisco, Western Pacific, Southern and Canadian National.Scenarios2 scenarios for the Cajon Pass (Barstow-San Bernadino), also available on SteamMobile Switcher A Grand Day Cutting 7aa9394dea Title: Train Simulator: SW1500 Switcher Loco Add-OnGenre: SimulationDeveloper:Dovetail GamesPublisher:Dovetail Games - Trains Franchise:Train Simulator Train Simulator: SW1500 Switcher Loco Add-On Free Download [pack] Very decent DLC, especially for the price. This package has switching potential on almost every route available here on steam. They all have the average sounds, but what really gives it spice is that each locomotive variant has modifications, whether it's the headlight or numberboard placement to truck type. There are two scenarios for Cajon Pass included, but I have not played it and no doubt it's pretty outdated. Although, usually for locomotive DLC you can find much higher quality scenarios on the Workshop. Here's a little list I made for switchers and their respective routes for scenario creators:BNSF\/BN - Pacific Surfurliner, Marias Pass, Stevens Pass, The Racetrack, and Cajon PassBN - Feather River Canyon, plus all BNSF listed routesNS - Norfolk Southern Coal District, NEC Philedelphia - New York, The Racetrack, and Horseshoe Curve (This one also includes two different NS liveries)UP - Cajon Pass, Peninsula Corridor (CalTrain), Sherman Hill, Feather River Canyon, Ohio Steel, and Soldier SummitSP - Donner Pass, Soldier Summit, and pretty much any modern-day UP routeWP - Feather River CanyonSOU - Horseshoe Curve, Norfolk Southern Coal DistrictCN - Canadian Mountain Passes, Fort KentFrisco - Best on shortlines on the workshop, like Adriana County or Majestic FallsOverall, this is a must-have for American railfans and has so much potential for US scenarios in the workshop. My rating: 9\/10. Well, this pack has a BUNCH of paintjobs, with each one more or less having tweaked features, such as spark arrestors, headlights, horn, and stobes. The bad thing though, is it has a default horn, of which the loop is WAY too long, which makes it diffucult to do the American Horn Sequence (Long-Long-Short-Long), so you have to get a special mod in order for the horn to work right! All in all, I guess I would recommend this, as it is kindof a given engine you HAVE to have, but try to get it on sale.... EMD overbuilt this locomotive when it came out if there's a king of the switcher world it is the EMD SW 1500. Two Cajon Pass scenarios are provided with this pack if you want more action with the SW 1500 check out the train simulator Workshop there are custom scenarios on there of the SW 1500 doing switching work this is a must-have locomotive if you want to do a switching scenario. Liveries provided with the scenario two Union Pacific paint schemes, Southern Pacific Daylight paint scheme, Norfolk Southern grimy black, Norfolk Southern tiger stripes, Norfolk Southern horse head, Southern Pacific grimy black, BNSF Orange, Santa Fe yellow, BN green, Frisco white, WP orange, Southern Railway green, and CN tiger stripes and red nose. All this and more is provided in the Train Simulator SW 1500 Pack.. Old loco ut has lots of liveries and amazing sounds! Would recomend!. These are some nice locomotives. A great variety of liveries are included such as Norfolk Southern, Union Pacific, Frisco, etc. The are fun to drive and look fantastic! I love em alot! I really like their horn except one minor flaw is that the horn loop is to long making it hard to do the long long short long when approaching crossings which is critical in US railroading. Included are a few scenarios for Cajon Pass including free roam. I do suggest getting these because they are fun to drive.. I love these american shunting locos.
